Mark is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of HASTA Capital. Prior to founding HASTA, Mark was Senior Managing Director at Greystar, the largest operator of apartments in the U.S. In over 12 years at Greystar, Mark held multiple leadership roles across the company, most recently leading Greystar’s international expansion into Europe and Latin America where he oversaw the investment and development of over 30,000 residential units in Europe and Mexico. During his tenure with Greystar, Mr. Hafner led the investment, acquisition and development of over $9.0 Billion USD of multifamily rental properties and student housing.
Mark received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from The State University of New York at Oswego. He previously worked at Merck & Co. and Clear Channel Communication. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
Rodrigo is Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of HASTA Capital, as well as Director General of HASTA Capital Mexico and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Prior to founding HASTA, Rodrigo was Managing Director for Greystar Real Estate Partners in Latin America, where he was responsible for all of Greystar’s business activities in the region, including the company’s Investment, Development, and Property Management divisions. Rodrigo was responsible for investing a $250M USD equity fund and of the sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, and execution of the development deals that made up that fund. Rodrigo was also responsible for the management of a 2,000+ unit portfolio in Mexico.
Prior to that, Rodrigo was a structural engineer with DeSimone Consulting Engineers in New York City. Rodrigo graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union in New York and received an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School.
Ivette is a Director of Investments in the Mexico City Office. Prior to joining HASTA Capital, Ivette worked as a senior finance analyst at Johnson & Johnson in Mexico City, where she began her career as part of their Finance Leadership Development Program. While at J&J, Ivette worked across different industries such as pharmaceuticals, consumer products and medical devices. Ivette holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey received an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Sterling is a Director of Investments in the Mexico City office where his responsibilities include deal sourcing, underwriting, and capital raising. Prior to HASTA Capital, Sterling was an investment professional at Greystar Investment Group’s Latin America platform where he aided in the underwriting and analysis of MXN$3B of transactions. Prior to that Sterling was a development analyst at Grupo Questro where he focused on luxury hospitality and high end residential projects throughout Mexico. Sterling Studied Comparative Literature and Portuguese at Yale University, during which time he studied, and worked abroad in Brazil.
Andrea Blumencweig is a Director on the Development team. Andrea joined HASTA Capital after previously working at Greystar’s Mexico Office as an Investment Analyst. Native in three languages, Andrea holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the NYU Global Program, in which she studied at NYU campuses in Paris, London and New York. She holds a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics. Prior to that she was a graduate from the Lycée Français de New York.
Bruno is Director of Development at HASTA Capital. Prior to HASTA, Bruno was a Development Associate at Thor Urbana Capital, responsible for their Four Seasons Caye Chapel project, a 100 key, 36 private residence and 100 estate lots luxury project on a private island off Belize. Bruno also worked as an architect at Grupoarquitectura where he designed luxury residential projects.
Bruno has an Architecture Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and an MSRED from Columbia University in New York.
Felix is a Director of Asset Management, based in the US. Felix was previously Regional Vice President of Property Management for Winthrop Management where he oversaw the management and operations of Winthrop’s multifamily assets in the Eastern US. Prior to HASTA, Felix has also worked as a Regional Property Manager for The Bainbridge Companies and a Regional Property Manager for Greystar. Over his career, Felix has led the lease-up and management of over 8,000 apartments. Felix holds a Real Estate Sales License in Florida and is an active member of the Florida Realtors Association and the Institute of Real Estate Management.
